This tour begins and ends in a city that dates back to before Julius Caesar. London is the thriving epicenter of the western world, with a magnificently rich history. We have made arrangements with ground transportation services to get you from any one of London’s four airports or from St. Pancras International Station if you decided to come by Eurostar. Our first night has you greeted and accommodated at Premier Inn London Blackfriars. After a classic English Carvery (for those that don’t know this is a roast dinner) we are off to one of our favorite pubs for cocktails and maybe a pint or two before we are back to our rooms to get you rested from your travels and refreshed for the days ahead.
Breakfast is at 8:30am each morning and today is no different. We have a morning meeting and class introduction at 10:00am for about a half hour then we get everyone ready for a walking tour of London beginning with a visit to St. Paul’s Cathedral and Temple Bar which is a restored historic city gate. From here we take the tube (London Underground) to Tower Hill Station where during recent expansion they discovered part of the ancient roman wall. We will visit the Tower of London and Tower Bridge before settling in for an early afternoon lunch on South Bank of The Thames at Cote Brasserie. After Lunch we are off to London Bridge where we will hop onto a double-decker bus tour of the city. We will hop off at Buckingham Palace and St. James Park as well as Westminster Abbey and Parliament with historic Big Ben. Of course throughout the day we will be working with you to capture these moments in photographs that you will cherish for a lifetime. Dinner tonight will be at the Aberdeen Steakhouse in Piccadilly. After dinner your free to enjoy the London nightlife in the Westend or come back to the hotel and call it an early night.
Even though we walked you around a lot yesterday breakfast is still at 8:30am. We will have a morning meeting and class time followed by a hop-on hop-off bus trip to Trafalgar Square and a visit to the National Gallery. After lunch on Trafalgar Square we hop back on for a trip to The Victoria and Albert Hall and the Museum of Natural history. Dinner tonight is on the high street as they say in the UK for a taste of India at Zaika Restaurant. After Dinner we are off for a Saturday Night Pub Crawl if your up to it. You can sleep in a bit in the morning before we check out and head out of London.
We are leaving London today after break fast for the South Coast and a visit to the Long Man of Wilmington. We will spend about an hour here and have a catered picnic lunch before boarding for Stonehenge on the Salisbury Plains. This ancient World Heritage Site stirs the imagination, and with a little luck sunset will give us a great backdrop for capturing the moment. After Sunset we have about an hour ride to our hotel for the night in the Ancient city of Bath. We will have a late night dinner here and then off to bed. 8:30 breakfast comes early.
After Breakfast we will have our morning class and spend the rest of the morning exploring historic Bath. We will have a wonderful English Roast for lunch and then make the trek to Devon where we will spend the next two nights. Dinner this evening will on the Paignton Waterfront at the fabulous Harvester Restaurant.
Our Morning Class will be held out on the banks of the Dart River, where we will get the chance to practice what we have learned right away. The Dart is the principal drainage of Dartmoor and the river that Dartmouth and the Royal Naval Academy are located. From here we will venture into a haunted land and visit the ruins of Berry Pomeroy Castle (Englands most haunted castle) where we will have our catered picnic lunch. Next we are off to the Heart of Dartmoor, Widecombe in the Moor. This old village has seen the best and the worst of Dartmoor will will stop in for some tales of ghosts and fairies at the local pub. We will catch sunset on the moors with the hope of catching some great images before we head back to our Hotel for an excellent dinner.
Today we have a long road ahead of us as we head North to visit the Millstones of Stanage Edge. This photography playground has never failed to excite those who visit it. The ancient Millstones serve as an excellent foreground anchor for some awesome landscape images. We will have a catered picnic lunch at Stanage and dinner will be in Manchester before we head into the Lake District where we will stay in beautiful Windermere.
Today we will spend our time capturing the beauty and wonder of the Lake District our classes will be on the bus as we seek a spot to shoot. Our Lunch will be a catered BBQ and we will have a late dinner in Manchester where we will catch a short flight to Galway, Ireland for the Irish leg of our tour. We will be chasing the light today in hopes of capturing some great imagery. Our scouts will be letting us know where in the region we want to go to get the best shot.
Today you are waking up in Ireland and you are in for a treat with a traditional Irish Breakfast. Our class will be on the bus today as well as we will be heading south to the World Famous Cliffs of Moher. The beauty here is unequaled in all of these enchanted Isles. We will be off from the Cliffs for a trip to Shannon and Limerick Where we will overnight here, but we aren’t not done with the day until we have a night out in a few of the awesome Irish Pubs of Limerick.
After our Morning breakfast our class is on the road to Killarney where we will check in to our hotel and then be off to the Dingle Peninsula. We will explore this windswept land off the North Atlantic and thrill to the power of the sea smashing into the coast. We will spend all day and after sunset photographing this jagged coastline before heading back to Limerick for a afternoon flight back to London. Both Lunch and Dinner are catered outings as we don’t want to trek back and forth today.
After breakfast and a leisurely morning exploring the town of Limerick we will head to the airport for our afternoon flight to London. We are staying again at the same hotel we were at in the beginning so if you left anything behind and caught it. You will be able to pick it up if they found it. We give you some time to rest up a bit before we take you out for a fantastic time at one of London’s premier shows at a Westend theater. Dinner will once again be at the Aberdeen Steakhouse. After the show we are throwing a private party at our favorite pub and we will get the chance to tell you how much we enjoyed having you and to say goodbye in proper fashion. We are staying up late tonight but you don’t have to if you want to catch some sack time before your trip home tomorrow.
Today is dedicated to checkout and returning our guest to the airport. We hope you had a good time on you photo tour. Most of all, we hope you came away with a world class education in photography. We can’t wait to meet you and show you the best of The Celtic Lands.
